Portuguese EU Presidency - Informal Meeting on Territorial Cohesion and Regional Policy, Azores 23-24 November

The Portuguese EU Presidency is to hold an informal ministerial meeting on spatial planning and regional development in Azores on 23 and 24 November, the main event organised by the Portuguese Presidency in terms of regional policy. The first day will focus on spatial planning, including the discussion of further implementation of the Leipzig Charter on Sustainable European Cities and the probable adoption of a concrete action plan. The second day will focus on regional development, including the discussion of a document prepared by the Commission's DG Regio on the extent to which the Lisbon strategy is taken into account in the national strategic reference frameworks drawn up by Member States.
