Welcome to Economic Development Resources

Hello and welcome to the Economic development Resources blog. I am a economic development officer with a deep interest in economic development policy in all its components, namely, regional policy, local economic development, labour markets, innovation and entrepreneurship promotion, enterprise support programmes, sustainable development, financial markets and globalisation, amongst others. I'll be posting some interesting links for state-of-the-art economic development resources which can be useful for policy-makers, researchers, students or for just anyone who has an interest on these themes. I hope it is useful for you and and I hope to see you back soon.

For the first post, I wish to leave the link for one of the classic texts on regional policy, co-authored by my dear friend Kevin Morgan, which discusses the rise of a new paradigm for regional innovation policy in the European Union

Morgan, K. and Henderson, D. (2002), ‘Regions as Laboratories: the Rise of Regional Experimentalism in Europe’, in M. S. Gertler and D. A. Wolfe (Eds.) ‘Innovation and Social Learning: Institutional Adaptation in an Era of Technological Change’, London: Palgrave Macmillan, pp. 204-26

If you liked the paper, I highly recommend the book where you can find the final version of this paper: Innovation and Social Learning: Institutional Adaptation in an Era of Technological Change
